Prevent Type 1 Diabetes NOW – We Can’t Wait!

D*action Participant Registration – Welcome Type 1 Diabetes Prevention Participants

from GrassrootsHealth & the Children with Diabetes Research Foundation

Join the world’s largest vitamin D project, D*action, NOW for you, your family, your friends and become part of an international project to solve the vitamin D deficiency and Type 1 Diabetes epidemics.

Choosing to enroll in this special project with a focus on the prevention of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) will help you identify how your vitamin D and omega-3 levels may be affecting your health and any T1D autoantibody status. Using personalized information and charts, you can track your health outcomes and changes over time, see how they are working for you, and compare them to your vitamin D and omega-3 levels and to others in the project. Your participation in the testing and sharing your results with your health status will also enable us to inform everyone about how the status of vitamin D and omega-3s may affect the progression of T1D, and track health outcomes associated with each nutrient’s intake, blood levels, and autoantibody status. This project depends on a true ‘GrassrootsHealth’ movement. We can do it together!

This project encourages 3 testing and questionnaire sequences, 5-6 months apart. You may choose to enroll 1-time to test your levels with an extended health questionnaire or you may participate for the full project or longer, where you provide your health information along with a vitamin D test, Omega-3 Index with AA:EPA ratio test, hs-CRP, HbA1c, and T1D autoantibody tests.

Each testing kit with participation is $315 plus shipping. We encourage donations to support a scholarship program to provide testing to those who may not be able to afford it. Our aim is for the tests to be sponsored by various entities so that no one has to forego a test due to costs. Depending on such funding, scholarships can be made available to those who have been identified as being at risk for developing T1D, by having tested positive for one or more of the known islet autoantibodies for T1D.

Parental consent for any participants under the age of 18 is required.

We are expecting to demonstrate the significance of these nutrients on pre-diabetes status and, of course, in the prevention of T1D. We very much appreciate your participation. Help us spread the word.

If you have previously received vitamin D results in the D*action project, please log in here.  Otherwise, if you are a new participant
